iPad Air 2019
The iPad is more powerful than ever with the iPad Air 2019. This version has a 10.5-inch retina screen and contains an A12 Bionic chip with Apple’s Neural Engine inside. With those specifications, the new iPad would get a performance boost of 70 percent compared to the previous iteration. The graphics would be twice as fast. The iPad supports the Smart Keyboard as well as the Apple Pencil. In terms of design, there is little else apart from the fact that there is 20% more screen area. The Lightning connection was also retained and the device, unfortunately, does not have USB-C. Specifically, there are two versions of the iPad Air 2019:
iPad Air 2019 with 64GB storage: 569 euros (approx. N232,000 naira) iPad Air 2019 with 256GB storage: 739 euros (approx. N301,000 naira)
Each version is available in silver, space gray and gold. The iPad Air 2019 can be ordered from today via the online store and will be available in stores from next week. The 9.7-inch iPad from 2018 will remain in Apple’s range. The iPad Air 2019 is mainly for people looking for an iPad with more power than the entry-level model.
iPad Mini 2019
Apple welcomes a new little sprout to their family: the iPad mini 5. The iPad mini 2019 succeeds the iPad mini 4 from 2015. So it was time for an update. The iPad mini 2019 has a 7.9-inch LCD screen with True Tone. Under the hood, we find an A12 Bionic chip. The camera was also overhauled. In terms of specifications, the device is so close to the iPad 2018. The iPad mini 2019 is now available for purchase in the Apple Store in silver, space gray and gold. For the 64 GB version you pay 459 euros (approx. N187,000 naira) while for the 256 GB version you pay 629 euros (approx. N256,000 naira). For the version with 4G, you pay around 150 euros (approx. N61,000 naira) extra. A welcome addition is especially the support for Apple Pencil. Just like with all other iPads in Apple’s current range, you can use the Apple Pencil to make notes and draw on your device.
