This is the first method and one of the easiest ways to hide files on Android without using any apps, it’s a method I use sometimes and it always serves me well. So here’s how to hide files on Android without apps. Step 1: The first thing you need to do is to create a new folder in your file manager, then after creating it, move all contents you want to hide inside the file manager. You can use one of the best file manager apps for that. Step 2: After doing all that, now go to your file manager settings and enable the options to Show Hidden Files, you can now proceed to the next step after that.

Step 3: Now you need to rename the folder you have created and stored all the files you want to add, you only need to add “.” to the beginning of the folder name. If you had named the folder as My Stuff, then it should be renamed as .My Stuff

Step 4: After finishing Step 3, now go back to Step 2 and use the same way to set your file manager to Hide Hidden Folders. Once you’ve done that, now go back to your gallery or file manager to see if the hidden files will appear.

Hide Files on Android With .Nomedia

Unlike the first method which works for all file extensions on Android, this method only works for media files like images, videos and audio files. So check out how to hide files on Android using the .nomedia option. For any media files you want to hide, you should move them into a folder, Then rename them one by one using .nomedia as the full file name. Step 1: Select a picture or the media file that you want to hide on your Android device, let’s say the name of the media file is My Image, now rename My Image to .nomedia, rename it completely. Step 2: Now go back to your gallery or where the media file was once located, and check to see if the media file is still showing, if it does then you should reboot your Android device and check again.
